Build a Spiritual Life That Can Actually Hold the Weight of Your Real Life
Spirituality Without Religion is a guided eight-module course for anyone asking what a meaningful spiritual life looks like beyond institutional religion — grounded not in doctrine, but in meaning, practice, relationship, and the realities of your actual life.

Where This Journey Takes You

We begin with the foundation: what spirituality actually is and why the search for meaning is part of being human. You’ll be introduced to the Spirituality Bridge Model and begin examining the framework you already carry.

Before we can question religion, we need to understand it. We explore why human beings created religious systems, what they have helped us do, and why they have remained so significant across cultures and history.

With our definitions in place, we turn to the tension between them. We explore why people increasingly separate spirituality from religious institutions and what that separation may reveal about the spiritual questions they still carry.

Before we move beyond religion, it is worth sitting honestly with what it has genuinely offered humanity. This module takes seriously what religion has given — and names what is genuinely at stake when we leave it behind.

We end where the course has been leading all along: with you. Drawing everything together, you begin articulating what a meaningful, sustainable, and personally authentic spiritual life might look like on your own terms.

This module answers the central question of the course directly — and the answer is more nuanced, more historically grounded, and more personally liberating than a simple yes or no.

Understanding the possibility is one thing. Living it is another. This module moves into practice, exploring the rhythms, practices, communities, and anchors that can give your spiritual life shape and sustainability.
I’m Dr. Thandazani Mhlanga, though most people know me as Dr. Thaah | M.
My work sits at the intersection of spirituality, meaning, culture, and the deeply human questions that shape how we live.
I hold a PhD and have spent much of my academic career researching spirituality, meaning-making, and the ways we understand ourselves and the world around us.
But my work has never been confined to books and classrooms. I’ve spent years teaching, researching, speaking, and working as a spiritual care practitioner, walking alongside people as they navigate questions of meaning, identity, belief, suffering, belonging, and change.
I created The Home of Meaning because I believe we need spaces where we can explore these questions honestly — without being rushed toward certainty or told what we are supposed to believe.
This course is an invitation into that kind of space: thoughtful, curious, and deeply human.
